A Monthly Newsletter Exclusively for Washington Youth Soccer Coaches

Here at Washington Youth Soccer we are convinced that we must do more to educate our coaches on the subject of concussions in soccer, and will continue to do so over the coming months.

In this edition of the Technical Zone In focus, we will address concussions and the importance of understanding the key role we as coaches play in the health and welfare of our players. Doug Andreassen, Washington Youth Soccer's President, continues to lead the charge across the country to increase the awareness of concussions in order to prevent serious injuries to youth sports athletes.

Below you will find an overview of how deal with and recognize a concussion. This information has been taken from the Center for Disease Control (CDC)'s "Heads-Up" program. After reading, I suggest you complete the CDC's educational and insightful online course linked here (and below) to further your understanding of this important issue. You can also find resources, articles and videos on concussion year round on Washington Youth Soccer’s Concussion Resources Page located Here. READ MORE: English l Español
