REGION IV Workshop Coaching
Education Updates

By Shannon Murray,
Washington Youth Soccer Director of Coaching Education

After recently attending the Region IV Workshop in Salt Lake City, the following updates in regards to Coaching Education were discussed:

Future Teaching Tools

U.S. Soccer is exploring the implementation of an e-platform that will help further the connection of U.S. Soccer to all levels of our nation’s coaches. This will be able to increase the impact of our courses and teaching past the content level and more into the competency level.

License Updates

The “F” license launch is targeted for the spring of 2014 and updates to the curriculums of the new “E” and “D” licenses were recently launched.  Those updates will be officially announced in January of 2014 by U.S. Soccer, and will be communicated both here and on the Coaches page at WashingtonYouthSoccer.org.

Development of a Technical Director's Course

The pilot program for a Technical Director’s Course is currently in progress. The announcement of the official course due by the end of the 2014 calendar year.

Stay up-to-date on the latest coaching education curriculum, find a course in your area, or view and download online age-appropriate training sessions via the Coaches tab at WashingtonYouthSoccer.org.
