Champions Crowned in Challenge Cup, Washington State Championships!2012 State Cup season wrapping up In December, Washington Youth Soccer's top recreational teams celebrated their Recreational Cup titles. In February, lower-level select teams capped their outstanding seasons with Founders Cup wins. Now, it's time for the state's best teams to take the stage. Washington Youth Soccer's two highest-level State Cup tournaments — the Challenge Cup and the US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships — have built to exciting conclusions over the last month, with semifinals and finals complete in all but the high school girls age groups. The Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships are the two state-level tournaments for Washington Youth Soccer's competitive teams. Both tournaments offer the state's elite players and teams the chance to compete against other top teams, and advance to regional and national competition. Champions have already been crowned in the Challenge Cup boys and girls U11-U14 age groups, and in the State Championships boys and girls U12-U14 age groups. Semifinals and finals for the girls U15 through U18 divisions will take place at Tukwila's Starfire Sports this weekend. For many of those teams, their State Cup runs are just beginning — boys and girls in the U13 through U17 divisions of the Challenge Cup will represent Washington at June's Region IV Presidents Cup in Colorado, while State Championships winners in the U12 to U19 age groups will advance to US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Arizona. Thank you to the many volunteers and administrators who helped make these events a success this year, and congratulations to all of the teams who advanced to Starfire! Challenge Cup
