Join the Seattle Sounders Women as they host the USL W-League semi-finals and finals later this month at Starfire Sports! Tickets still available!

It's been said by many that to learn how to play soccer at an elite level, you must study the skills and techniques of the game's greats.

With this in mind, local soccer fans will have an unprecedented opportunity later this month to witness elite national and international stars — plus up-and-coming collegians — compete when the W-League Semifinals and Finals come to Starfire Sports, July 29-31!

The two-day event will match the Sounders Women against the champions of the USL W-League's three regional conferences, with semifinals on Friday, July 29 and the third-place and championship games — the latter televised nationally by Fox Soccer Channel — on Sunday, July 31. Tickets are just $10 for a single day or $15 for the entire weekend — and all kids under 10 get in free!

This is no exhibition. This is no friendly. This is championship soccer, with a national television audience and the 2011 USL W-League title — one of the oldest and most long-coveted titles in American's professional women's sports — on the line.

Best of all, our area's premier women's professional team, the Seattle Sounders Women, will be among the four teams giving their all to win the crown, giving local fans the rare chance to watch our favorite team bring home a trophy in person!

"We are thrilled to bring the 2011 W-League Championship presented by Umbro to Washington, where the Seattle Sounders Women will host one of USL's marquee events," said Amanda Duffy, W-League Senior Director. "During their 10-year history, the Sounders Women have proven to be an elite-level franchise and they understand how to put on a first-class event. With that experience and the professional facilities the Starfire Sports Campus offers, the 2011 Championship will undoubtedly present an optimal experience for the teams and fans alike."

At last year's final in Santa Clarita, Calif., the Buffalo Flash held off the Vancouver Whitecaps by a 3-1 score to win the franchise's first W-League crown. Come watch Seattle University's Kara Kuttler, Boise State alum Liz Ruiz, Western Washington grad Justina McDowell and the rest of the most talented professionals in the Northwest as they try to do the same for Seattle against elite women's stars from across the continent!

With championship soccer on the pitch, and the chance to meet and receive autographs from elite national and international stars, it will be a fun event for the entire soccer family. And who knows? Maybe it will be the experience that inspires your young player to a lifetime of growth and development in the game!
