Fundraiser A Success
Thanks To Soccer Community!

After two and half months spent promoting our fundraising campaign to support local Olympian and soccer alumni/coach Michelle French in her battle against cancer, we were ecstatic that the soccer community pitched in so generously and helped us raise $5,170 to cover some of her medical costs. All in all, 65 raffle tickets were purchased and support for Michelle flooded in from all directions. In February, President Doug Andreassen met with Michelle to pass along everyone's well wishes and present her with the check. As the raffle winners, Dan and Diane Kovarik from Sammamish decided that the all-expenses-paid trip to England to watch Manchester United take on Blackburn at Old Trafford Stadium would be a father and daughter trip. Dan and Casey (who is on Michelle's GU14 team) took this once-in-a-lifetime trip and plan to share stories and pictures in the April edition of Play On!
