Mothers Get In Free When Sounders Reserves Take On USL Foe at Cheney Stadium May 12
Looking for a fun way to treat Mom this weekend? Grab your scarves, pull on your Rave Green and head to Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium for a special Sounders FC Reserve match on Sunday, May 12 at 4 p.m. And best of all, in honor of Mother’s Day, all devoted soccer moms who bring their children to the game will be admitted free!
The game – the Sounders’ first in Cheney Stadium – will pit the Sounders’ Reserve squad against Orlando City SC of the USL Pro, the national league which has recently partnered with Major League Soccer to create a unified developmental pathway for America’s top young soccer players.
“Major League Soccer has embarked on an exciting partnership with the USL Pro,” said Sounders Owner and General Manager Adrian Hanauer in a recent team press release. “This is a great opportunity for the two leagues to unite for the development of soccer in this country. Sounders FC will eventually have an operating partner in the USL. The city of Tacoma would be a fantastic location for us, and this game will give us a chance to test the market.”
Tickets to the match are available at www.TacomaRainiers.com or www.Ticketmaster.com, or by calling 253-752-7700. Tickets start at $10 with discounts for senior citizens and military. Children three and under are free. Gates open at 3 p.m.
So, rather than give mom flowers or a card this Mother’s Day, give her a fun day out with the family and show the Sounders that you want to see high-level professional soccer in Tacoma!
