Washington Youth Soccer To Host
National "C" License Course in March
As part of an ongoing commitment to coaching education, Washington Youth Soccer is excited to host a National “C” License course at Starfire Sports the weekends of Mar. 14-17 and Mar. 21-24.
The National "C" License course is open to all coaches who have held a National “D” License for one year, and is designed to introduce concepts that are targeted toward coaching players aged 11-14. The course focus is on getting coaches to think about, discuss and recognize the recurring concepts or themes that exist in soccer. Candidates will be challenged to find ways to offer constructive guidance to players while also allowing players to experience the game for themselves.
A primary emphasis in the National "C" License course is the close relationship between technique and tactics. In this course, technique and tactics will be addressed together. In practice field sessions and the final field exam, the candidate is required to address the impact that technique has on tactics.
This a rare opportunity for Washington Youth Soccer coaches to attend a high-level National Coaching Course, without having to leave the state! Learn more about the course and register online here.
Of course, Coaching Education does not stop at the conclusion of a course. Rather, this is the beginning; we want to continue to provide coaching education support throughout your coaching lifecycle.
Washington Youth Soccer has an outstanding Coaching Education Team, comprised of our Technical Director, Timo Liekoski; Director of Coaching Education, James Charette; Regional Development Officers: Malia Arrant, Michael Duncan, Shannon Murray, Gary Osterhage and Jason Timm, Program and Event Manager Lacey Schreiner.
