This Month In Coaching Education
By James Charette, Washington Youth Soccer Director of Coaching Education
This is an exciting time for Coaching Education, as U.S. Soccer has updated their course curriculum. Coaching Education does not stop at the conclusion of a course. Rather, this is the beginning; we want to provide continued coaching education support throughout your coaching lifecycle. If there are any services that we can provide to support your continued learning at all levels please let us know.
If you are interested in scheduling, registration or questions about a course, please reach out to the Regional Development Officer in your District. Each of these RDOs can provide valuable assistance in planning or scheduling a coaching course, and can answer any questions about coaching education opportunities in your area. Do not hesitate to contact them with any questions you might have.
This month, we feature an article from Rob Walker, "5 Favorite Goalkeeping Practices" and a coaching session from Paul Bayly, "Improving your team's ability to get in behind a defense to score or cross with forward runs." Scoring is one of the most challenging aspects of the game. This session with give you team training insights into how to create scoring chances by penetrating the defensive back line.
In addition, please take the time to complete the Coaching Education Survey. We want to provide the best coaching education services to meet your interests. We will be answering some of your questions in the next Coaches Corner. If you have any education questions, please contact the coaching education department. We look forward to working with you!
