2012-13 Elite Player Development Open Tryouts Announced
Now is your chance to step up and earn a place on the team!
Conducted in partnership with Sounders FC, the Elite Player Development (EPD) program is the umbrella program including each of Washington Youth Soccer’s current development curriculums — everything from ODP and State Pool training, to appearances at local and regional tournaments and college showcases, and continued professional development of our top coaches.
The goal of the EPD program is to develop a precise learning environment for the education and progress of each and every selected player. Through the EPD program, Washington Youth Soccer and Sounders FC work together to develop more players who will have the technical skills, tactical knowledge and creativity to compete at the highest levels.
The EPD program is open to boys 10-14 years of age and girls 10-17 years of age. Do you think you have what it takes to be a part of the EPD program? Open tryouts are being held in September, giving players from across the state the chance to enter Washington Youth Soccer’s premier development pathway.
Boys tryouts will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the following times and locations:
Girls tryouts will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, at the following times and locations:
*Please note that players born in 2001 are eligible to tryout for the 2000 age group.
**Girls '96 tryouts will take place after the conclusion of the high school season in December.
The EPD program is run on birth year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31), so please make sure when registering your child that they are registered for the correct age group. All players must be paid in full and registered with Washington Youth Soccer prior to trying out, and must arrive at tryouts in a white shirt, black shorts and white socks, with a signed medical release form (no club gear will be allowed).
