Champions Crowned in Challenge Cup, Washington State Championships
— On to Regionals!

2011 State Cup season comes to an exciting finish
with finals at Starfire Sports Complex

Eight months ago, thousands of players on hundreds of teams across the state met for their first practices of the 2010-11 season. Boys and girls, old and young, recreational and competitive — many took to the field with the same ultimate dream … a State Cup title.

THE FUN CONTINUES!

Follow our state’s top teams as they battle the region’s best for berths at July’s Presidents Cup and US Youth Soccer National Championships!

Region IV President’s Cup
June 14-19, 2011
West Jordan, Utah

Far West Regionals
June 20-26, 2011,
Boise, Idaho

Twenty-three teams saw their dreams come true over the last month at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, as the 2010-11 State Cup season concluded with semi-final and final rounds in the Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships. Those winning teams join the dozens of others crowned champions over the past six months in Recreational Cup, Founders Cup, Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships competition, the top tournament-style competitions for the 145,000 players in Washington Youth Soccer.

Of course, for many of these teams, the end of their State Cup campaign does not mean the end of their season.

Winning teams and select wildcards in the Challenge Cup boys’ and girls’ Under-13 through Under-17 divisions will compete next month at the Region IV President’s Cup in Utah, where they will vie with champions from the other 13 Western states for berths at July’s President’s Cup nationals.

Likewise, the quest for US Youth Soccer National Championships — the highest team honor in US Youth Soccer — will continue for the teams crowned champions in the US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships’ Under-12 through Under-18 divisions. Those boys’ and girls’ champions will make the short trek to Boise, Idaho, in June for Far West Regionals, winners of which will represent Region IV at the US Youth Soccer Nationals in July.

The Challenge Cup and US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships are the two state-level tournaments for Washington Youth Soccer’s competitive teams. Both tournaments offer the state’s elite players and teams the chance to compete against other top teams, and advance to regional and national competition.

Thank you to the many volunteers and administrators who helped make these events a success this year, and congratulations to all of the teams who advanced to Starfire this year!
