The Cup Conundrum

Which Washington Youth Soccer State Cup is right for my team?

As the rain starts to fall and the holidays inch ever closer, it's hard to believe that we're already less than two months away from kicking off one of the most exciting times of the year in Washington Youth Soccer — our three annual State Cup events!

Every year, hundreds of teams register for and compete in the Dairy Farmers of Washington President's Cup, the Commissioners' Cup, the Challenge Cup and the prestigious US Youth Soccer Washington State Championships. Each Cup represents a fun, safe, competitive environment for teams to test their talent against other outstanding teams from across the state, while competing for the title of Cup Champion and, in some cases, advancing to Regional and National-level play!

As exciting a time as it can be for players, parents, coaches, team managers and the hundreds of individuals involved with staging these events, it can also be equally confusing. We have taken each Cup and have answered questions such as these:

  • How do the Cups differ?
  • What are the entry fees and entry requirements?
  • When do the games start , when are the games played, and where?
  • What happens if my team wins? Do we qualify for Regional or National-level competition?
