GREETINGS!

SoccerPalooza 2009
We are going to return this year's event to the City of Seatac; the Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center will be our host facility. This year's events will start on Saturday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m. We are planning a series of workshops that will be both entertaining and informative.

In addition to these events, we will once again host our adidas Annual Awards Dinner, with the theme of "Sounders FC Celebration," that evening. This dinner will pay tribute to the dedicated men and women whose commitment and passion have helped elevate the game of soccer in our state over the past year. The event will feature a celebrity emcee and special guests from the Sounders FC, including keynote speaker Mr. Gary Wright, the Sounders FC senior vice president. After spending the last 32 years with the Seattle Seahawks, Gary was looking forward to retiring this past June when the top brass at Vulcan Sports and Entertainment coaxed him back to run the business operations for the Sounders FC. Fortunately for Northwest soccer fans; Gary caught the soccer bug in 1998 while traveling abroad in Spain; the rest is history.

A charismatic man with a million stories, guests at the Annual Awards Dinner will be sure to enjoy a piece of Northwest history. Keep reading e-Play On! for more about SoccerPalooza weekend and make sure to keep an eye on our Washington Youth Soccer website for additional information in the coming days.

Constitutional Convention
At our council meeting in January, we presented and discussed the Constitutional Convention process and our plans for the reorganization of Washington Youth Soccer. We received overwhelming support for the proposals and are now moving into developing the details of a seamless soccer system that will be easy to understand and will answer the questions that abound concerning levels of play in our state. For those who are interested, you will find all of the constitutional documents that we have produced to date on our website. Again, stay tuned, as more information will be made available.

See you on the pitch!
